Story of a passionate textile designer | Tam Tam Magazine

In the May-June issue of Milan Accueil 's bimonthly magazine Tam Tam , an invitation to discover the story of Céline Theis .

A textile designer, curious and passionate about patterns and colors, the vibrant Céline has three passions she happily shares: graphic design, silk, and accessories!

Let me tell you her story. This young Belgian studied in France before turning to art studies and moving to Milan to specialize in graphic design .

Thinking in context, creating an image in a limited space, allows her to work for communication companies on paper. It was her experience at 10 Corso Como that made her realize that graphic design comes to life on fabric! Her subsequent two experiences at fashion houses would reveal to her all the secrets of fabrics and accessories.

She fell in love with silk , this precious natural material that captures colors, light, and patterns so beautifully. Her dream was to create something of her own, but it's hard to start when you have a job. So, gathering all her energy, strength, and willpower, she resigned in 2021 to found her own company: Mon lien atelier , creating a collection of pure silk scarves , shawls , belts, and pocket squares . Accessories only, because for her, they represent the most versatile way to express herself in fashion: " They transform a look, they complete everything, it's a touch of magic! "

Thanks to her visual aesthetic, she can express a personal story through her designs. To get started, she first had to find a craftsman in Como who could meet her multiple needs: high-quality fabric, accurate colors, and an optimal result. The same goes for the packaging, its teal color , and its heat-stamped logo. But Céline isn't giving in to simplicity. She chose the name "Mon lien" in French, her native language , because of her close connection to fashion in her life and the symbolism of the accessory that she wraps around herself.

Using elaborate graphics , he also establishes connections between the various formats of his creations. The drawings follow only his inspiration, and his notebooks overflowing with sketches bear witness to this. He begins by sketching his ideas, then digitizing them in black and white. He then creates compositions of motifs on four different formats, adding color only when the arrangement strikes a satisfactory balance. He then explores up to 15 color variations , sticking to just two, before proceeding to experiment with his craftsman in Como .

It took her 8 months to create her company , 9 months to sell her first creations and today, this young mother is full of a thousand collaborative projects .
